Notice: 1 Train Service Suspension & Transit Alternatives
Beginning January 5, 2019, the MTA will be suspending service to the 168th street stop via the 1 train while they work to replace the elevator system to and from the 1 train platform. The interruption is expected to last through early 2020. This will affect transit for patients and practitioners traveling to and from the ColumbiaDoctors Nurse Practitioner Group locations in Washington Heights.
We have outlined some alternatives for public transit below:
Public transit alternatives to 168th Street
- Take the A or C train to 168th Street.
- From the south:
- Take the 1 train to 157th Street and make a free transfer to the uptown M5 bus. A free transfer also is available to the M4, M3, or M101 if more convenient.
- ADA-accessible route 1: Take the 1 train to 59th Street/Columbus Circle and transfer to the A or C train.
- ADA-accessible route 2: Take the 1 train to 96th Street and transfer to the uptown M5 bus.
- From the north:
- Take the 1 train to 215th or 207th Street and make a free out-of-system transfer* by walking to the A train station at 207th Street.
- Take the 1 train to 157th Street and make a free transfer to the uptown M5 bus. A free transfer also is available to the M4, M3, or M101 if more convenient.
- ADA-accessible route 1: Take the 1 train to Dyckman Street and transfer to the M100 bus.
- ADA-accessible route 2: Use the Bx7 bus.
