Dr. Roshnee Barrett, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and Assistant Professor of Medical Psychology with the Program for the Study of LGBT Health. Dr. Barrett received her doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University and completed clinical training at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Dr. Barrett’s clinical and academic interests include LGBT mental health; the impact of discrimination on mental health; women’s mental health; Latino/a mental health; sexual violence and trauma; and substance abuse/misuse. Dr. Barrett has extensive training in psychodynamic therapy, as well as familiarity with behavioral therapies including dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Dr. Barrett is bilingual and provides treatment in both English and Spanish.
