Susan Delisle, ANP-BC, PMHNP-BC is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and instructor in clinical nursing at Columbia University School of Nursing. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the Statue University of New York at Binghamton and her nursing degree at Seattle Central Community College. After working as a critical care nurse in Washington, DC and New York City, she earned her Adult Nurse Practitioner degree at Columbia Nursing, and then worked in outpatient cardiology. She then completed the Columbia Nursing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
Susan is providing mental health services for adults at the Nurse Practitioner Group. This care includes the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions, using a holistic approach that includes providing psychotherapy, psychoeducation, prescribing medications, and general health promotion. Her clinical and research interests include the exploration of the psychosocial impacts of medical illness, and bringing the philosophy of palliative care together with psychological interventions to reduce suffering and improve quality of life for individuals with chronic and advanced illness.
